Project Overview

The community is committed to building the new sidewalk and drainage improvements and successfully competed for funding through the Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF), a city-administered program that works with communities to prioritize and build neighborhood projects.

Project Location

33rd Ave NE between N 125th and N 130th Streets on the west side of the street where sidewalk does not exist

Project Description

  • New porous, concrete sidewalk,
  • Curbs,
  • Pedestrian lighting and
  • Street trees and ground cover in planting strip area.

These changes will improve the pedestrian environment by providing a landscaped buffer from traffic; improve drainage and lighting as well as traffic calming the street.  The new street width on 33rd Ave NE will be 34’ wide with parallel on-street parking on both sides of the street.  The narrowed street width will have a traffic calming benefit for the neighborhood and further enhance pedestrian safety.
