Ballard Bridge Sidewalk Widening Concept Study

The City of Seattle's Department of Transportation (SDOT) has completed its evaluation of alternatives to make travel across the Ballard Bridge more comfortable for pedestrians and people on bicycles.   The Ballard Bridge Sidewalk Widening Concept Study addresses the feasibility of:

  • widening the sidewalks on the bridge approaches
  • installing a railing between the travel lanes and the existing sidewalks
  • providing a multi-use connector trail between the southwest corner of the Ballard Bridge, 15th Avenue West, and the South Ship Canal Trail

The Appendices for the study, which was performed by BergerABAM, are available here.
