Project Summary

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and Lake City Neighborhood Greenways are partnering to explore and with your help establish safer routes to Cedar Park Elementary School. With nearly 350 students, another 40 Head Start students and more than 40 teachers and staff, weve heard that there are concerns about traffic congestion and traffic safety during the morning and afternoon commutes, affecting traffic through the neighborhood.

Safety improvements may include new signage, crosswalks, sidewalks, and bikeways. SDOT and community members will work together to establish a clear traffic circulation plan that emphasizes safety, mobility and options for getting around.

One strategy that is being explored is reducing the vehicular trips to and from school by making it safer to walk and bike and encouraging more families to walk and bike. We want to hear your ideas. You are warmly invited to join this 6-month planning effort.
