Driving Directions
From Downtown Seattle
- Take Denny Way westbound and follow the road as it curves around to the right (Denny Way turns into Elliott Avenue).
- Follow Elliott Avenue northbound (Elliot Avenue turns into 15th Street).
- Continue north on 15th Street across the Ballard Bridge to Market Street NW (the first traffic light).
- Turn left on Market Street NW, go westbound until the road Y's (there is a Taco Time restaurant in the Y).
- Follow the road to the left (the road turns into NW 54th Street).
- The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are approximately 100 yards on the left after passing the Y in the road.
From North of Seattle
- Take Interstate 5 southbound and get off the highway at Exit 172.
- Follow the ramp onto N 85 {1st right} to 24th Avenue NW. Turn left on 24th Avenue NW and follow the road to Market Street NW.
- Turn right on Market Street NW, go westbound until the road Y's (there is a Taco Time restaurant in the Y).
- Follow the road to the left (the road turns into NW 54th Street).
- The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are approximately 100 yards on the left after passing the Y in the road.
From South of Seattle
- Take Interstate 5 northbound, get off at Exit 169.
- At the end of the ramp, turn left onto NE 45th Street (westbound) and carefully follow the arterial, and the signs, to the Locks.
- The arterial will turn into NW 46th Street, then into Market Street NW.
- Once you are on Market Street NW, go westbound until the road Y's (there is a Taco Time restaurant in the Y).
- Follow the road to the left (the road turns into NW 54th Street).
- The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are approximately 100 yards on the left after passing the Y in the road.
From the Eastside
- Take Interstate 90 or Highway 520 westbound, to Interstate 5.
- Follow "From South of Seattle" instructions.
