Lincoln Park

general info | photo gallery | map & directions

Lincoln Park is one of Seattle’s largest and most popular parks. Its 135 acres of open space provide a broad range of landscape types and a rich variety of recreational opportunities.

The park was put together piecemeal over the years as West Seattle developed: as shelter in 1925; parking areas in 1928; a playground in 1930; seawalls, trails, fireplaces, and horseshoe pits during the Depression; and major additions just after WWII, as people streamed into the area to work in the burgeoning Boeing aircraft plant in the Duwamish Valley.

Today, Lincoln Park offers beach access to Puget Sound, a paved walking path along the water, ballfields, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, children's play areas, wading pool and Colman Pool - a heated outdoor, salt water pool operated during the summer months.
