Alki Beach

A trip to Alki Beach in West Seattle and along the beachfront has few equals in the city, with views of the Downtown Seattle skyline and Puget Sound. Alki Beach is where the Denny Party settlers arrived in Seattle and spent the winter of 1851, before retreating to a less blustery site on Elliot Bay.

In the summer, Alki Beach is a hot spot with joggers, roller bladers, cyclists, volleyball players and sun bathers, and is home to restaurants ranging from hamburger joints to upscale gourmet. Whether you want to catch some rays or watch a winter storm roll in, Alki Beach is a great place to view Seattle from a different perspective.
