Wallingford Community Senior Center
Enhancing Technology Services

The Wallingford Community Senior Center has provided computer training and access to its members for the past two year. This Technology Matching Fund grant will allow them to improve the services they provide to their clients by upgrading their seven computers, improving the lab space for better teaching, and increasing the numbers of seniors served by expanding programs and hours of operations. This project will also develop a peer mentoring program, where seniors will learn to assist other seniors during open lab time.

The Wallingford Community Senior Center has been in operation since 1978. The Center’s mission is to offer seniors opportunities to maintain their independence and dignity by providing programs and services that enhance social, physical and mental well-being. Social services and programs targeting independence and quality of life enhancement include legal and financial consulting; health care services; lifetime fitness classes; computer training and classes; and lunches that meet the benchmark of recommended daily allowances for seniors.
