Refurbished Computers
Interconnection
Interconnection provides refurbished computers and computer equipment to individuals and nonprofits at a reduced cost. Low-income residents may also volunteer at their Seattle center to earn a computer and learn skills. Interconnections is also a center for donating used computers. They ship worldwide.
Wildnerness Technology Alliance
The WTA collects computers from corporations and refurbishes them using volunteers, students, and staff. They then distribute them to schools and individuals in Washington State.
City of Seattle Surplus Computers
The City offers free surplus computers to Seattle based nonprofit human service agencies and schools that serve Seattle residents.

Research on the digital divide and who is technology underserved
Information Technology Access and Adoption in Seattle
The City of Seattle conducted research in 2009, 2004 and 2000 about technology access and use in our community. In 2009 the survey was conducted in English and Spanish. Input was gathered from focus groups with African Americans, Latinos and other immigrant and refugee community members. This survey has been repeated every four years.
