IMC TEchnology Learning Center Project
Seattle Independent Media Center

Grant Award: $26,600

To establish a Technology Learning Center to develop computer literacy and multi-media skills with a focus on the constituents of several citywide, grassroots organizations who have not traditionally had access to technological resources.

Extension of Computer Based Resource Center
Horn of Africa Servies

Grant Award: $25,980

To expand Internet access and multi-lingual computer classess by installing supplementary hardware and software, increasing staff hours, and stregthening the lab's capacity to accommodate 1500 users and meet additional demands for training.

SeattleNeighborhoods.org
Seattle Community Network Association

Grant Award: $25,000

To assist neighborhood computer labs by offering free workshops and train-the-trainer classes. Workshops range from navigating e-mail and the Web, to help small community non-profits put up websites.

Increasing Public Access and Enhancing Services
Wallingford Community Senior Center

Grant Award: $9,249

To improve the capacity of the Center's existing computer lab so that it can be used more effectively with seniors or others with disabilities through purchasing adaptive equipment and expanding the lab's hours of operation.

Computer Literacy Program for Seniors
Heritage House at the Market / Providence

Grant Award: $3,584

To establish a small lab for low-income, nursing home eligible seniors which will be used as part of a program that maches seniors with high school students and other community volunteers to teach basic computer, Internet, and e-mail skills.

West Seattle Senior Center Computer Center Upgrade
West Seattle Senior Center

Grant Award: $18,491

Upgrade an existing 11-station computer lab to better meet the needs of students by upgrading hardware, purchasing new equipment, and upgrading all class materials for application to current software versions.

Transitioning with Technology
Digital Promise

Grant Award: $18,615

To upgrade existing labs in two transitional and low-income housing buildings and to develop, and to train individuals in these locations to use computer and web tools that target their specific needs.

Community Technology Access and Literacy Lab Project
People of Color Against AIDS Network (POCAAN)

Grant Award: $8,065

To improve access to technology and technology training for communities of color in Seattle by expanding an existing computer center in Central Seattle.

Delridge OnRamp Career and Computer Access Center
Delridge Community Center Advisory Council

Grant Award: $5,500

To enhance the capacity of the existing Delridge OnRamp lab to provide computer instruction and career assistance by replacing outdated computer hardware and software and purchasing educational software for children.
