Guide to Computer Centers for Seniors

Seniors Compute is an effort by the City of Seattle to assist the seniors population in locating and utilizing technology resources in their own communities. Included is a  guide to community technology centers in the Seattle area that offer training and classes specifically aimed at Seniors.

Seniors Training Seniors Project

The first groups of Senior Trainers are now organizing computer basics / internet skills classes. (Summer 2000) These classes are intended for seniors with little or no prior experience working with computers.

The senior and community centers below are hosting the first sessions; please contact centers directly to inquire about class times and availability.

Study of Senior Technology in Seattle

This report provides recommendations for use of $35,000 from the Citizens Literacy and Access Fund that was allocated for a Senior Project by the City Council in August 1997. The report contains information that formed the basis of those recommendations and provides a solid assessment of the topic of seniors and computer technology in Seattle that may be useful for other projects.
