The City of Seattle Community Technology Program provides grants to community organizations for help in closing the digital divide, ensuring technology equity for all Seattle residents, and furthering electronic civic engagement. Eligibility varies somewhat with our different programs, but funds are generally available to Seattle non-profits, neighborhood groups, PTSA's, and mutual assistance associations for projects which meet the goals of the grant program. Technology Matching Fund
- For either:
- Technology Access & Literacy Projects; or
- Electronic Civic Enagement & Community Building
- Grants up to $20,000
- One cycle per year in spring (2013 deadline is March 4th)
- Match required
- Projects may take up to one year to complete
Access for All Broadband Internet for Organizations
- Provides free business class broadband Internet for Seattle organizations that provide computer access and/or training for community members
- Service includes modem, installation and ongoing Internet service
- No specific deadline; applications are taken throughout the year
- This free Internet is provided in partnership with Comcast and WAVE Broadband
- A limited number of connections are available each year
- Service continues as long as city agreement and organization public computing continues
- In some cases, may include provision of free cable television service as well

The Seattle Public Library offers grant and fundraising resources through their online database and catalogs. Also the downtown Seattle library is a great resource, and houses the Foundation Center's core collection of reference works on grant seeking and grant writing. They also have staff trained to assist grantseekers.
