Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board

November 14, 2002

Mayor Greg Nickels
City of Seattle
600 Fourth Avenue
12th Floor
Seattle, WA 98104

Dear Mayor Nickels,

The Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board supports Mayor Nickels' initiative to build new first-time sidewalks on residential blocks in Seattle.

We support consideration by the Seattle City Council of new ways of funding sidewalks for residential streets that have never had sidewalks.

We congratulate SDOT on developing the S.E.A. Street model for less costly sidewalk and drainage on residential blocks that are suited to this treatment.

We support partial City funding for more blocks of economical S.E.A. Street and Cascade prototye sidewalk and drainage.

Sincerely,

Rob Ketcherside, Chair
Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board
