Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board February 12, 2003
Johnathan Jackson Dear Mr. Jackson and Mr. Williams: Thank you for attending the January 8th, 2003 meeting of the Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board. The Board was excited to see the station plans for the SODO, Beacon Hill, and Rainier Valley stations. We are concerned about issues of pedestrian safety along the at-grade alignment of Central Link along Martin Luther King Way. However, your description of the Z crossings, signalization, and Sound Transit's safety education programs were reassuring. Additionally, thank you for sending a packet of further information regarding safety issues. Please keep in contact with our board regarding pedestrian issues as Link moves towards completion. As we outlined in the meeting, we're interested in the range of issues from urban design to safe crossings. Feel free to contact me at <email>, but the long-term contact should be Megan Hoyt at SDOT's Pedestrian Program, megan.hoyt@seattle.gov. Sincerely,
