Policies - Mutual & Offsetting Benefits

Mutual and Offsetting Benefits (“MOB”) Leases are certain leases initiated by the City of Seattle for other wised unused buildings, where the City, and the public, obtain services in lieu of a portion of cash rent through provision of services by a non-profit organization lessee. The policies and procedures included in Resolution 27712 establish a uniform process and real estate standards for leases that contain cash rent offsets of Mutual and Offsetting Benefits (“MOB”) to The City of Seattle and the public through provision of services by either paid staff or volunteers of a non-profit organization lessee.

The City is reviewing the current policies relating MOB leases. The current policy is to refrain from negotiating new MOB leases. The City is reviewing the existing MOB properties in accordance with Clerk File Number: 312305 The current policy is to refrain from negotiating new MOB leases.
