Real Estate Services Real Estate Services provides centralized real estate services to City decision-makers, other City departments and the general public. We implement simple to complex real estate transactions to accomplish major City goals. Our key functions are Technical Services for Property Acquisitions and Dispositions, Leasing, and Appraisals. We also develop City-wide Real Estate Policy and manage the City-wide Property Database. Vacant Parcels in Central District and West Seattle The City is moving forward with the disposition of two parcels. One is located in the Central District, and won is located in West Seattle. Former Seattle City Light Sub Stations The City Council passed ordinance 124013, which authorizes the sale of six former Seattle City Light (SCL) sub-stations. Seattle City Light has selected to sell four of the properties through an open and competitive process, managed by the Department of Finance and Administrative Services (FAS). Through a Request for Proposal process, FAS selected several real estate brokers to provide various brokerage services. FAS and SCL have selected Colliers International Seattle Office to market these properties. Information about the offering can be found at Seattle City Light Properties. North Kent Highlands Commercial Property The City Council approved legislation authorizing the sale of this Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) property located on the north side of S 231st Way, between Military Rd S and Riverview Blvd S for private development. House Adjacent to Taylor Creek The City Council approved legislation authorizing the sale of this Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) managed property, a single-family house located at 10042 Rainier Avenue S. This parcel is a portion of PMA 776 – Taylor Creek Property. SPU is currently designing flood control improvements and habitat enhancement of Taylor Creek. This single-family home is not needed for the project. James Tjoa of ReMax Realty has been selected to market the property for the City. The property is on the market now. More information is available here. Former Fire Station 39 Disposition Fire Station 39 is located at 2806 NE 127th Street and is fully operational. The former fire station 39 is adjacent, and the City of Seattle has published its Preliminary Report and proposed Public Involvement Plan (PIP). The Report recommends that the City redevelop the site as housing for homeless and/or very low income families, with ground floor facilities providing youth programming to benefit the community and building residents. For more information and to download these documents, click here. Former Fire Station 6 Disposition The new Fire Station 6 located at 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South is complete. The former Fire Station 6 will be used by the Seattle Police Department as a temporary location for parking enforcement officers, who have relocated from the East Precinct during the construction of the 12th Avenue Arts Facility and SPD parking garage. The Department of Finance and Administrative Services has made a preliminary recommendation that the former Fire Station 6 be sold through an open competitive process that reaches the maximum number of potential purchasers, and that will produce the highest return to the City. Historic Fire Stations 37 and 38 sold After a successful marketing process, Fire Station 37 has been sold for$613,000, and Fire Station 38 has been sold for $712,000. East Precinct Auxiliary Parking Garage Construction has begun on Capitol Hill Arts and the Seattle Police Department East Precinct Auxiliary Parking Garage. This innovative mixed use development that provides and additional capacity of a City asset as well as providing a community based Arts space and low income housing. |
