Public Agency Programs · City of Portland Office of Sustainable Development - The OSD promotes renewable energy resources, pollution prevention and solid waste reduction. · King County Environmental Purchasing Program - The County EPP provides technical assistance to help County Buyers identify, evaluate and purchase environmentally preferable products. · Office of the Federal Environmental Executive - Promotes sustainable environmental stewardship throughout federal government. · US Dept of Agriculture BioPreferred - Federal purchasing program to increase the use of biobased products by federal agencies. · US EPA - Published Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines as part of the “buy recycled” program. · Washington State Department of Ecology - The Department of Ecology strives to prevent pollution, clean up pollution and support sustainable communities and natural resources. · Washington State General Administration - The state's sustainability initiative is focused on recycling, green commuting and building and energy conservation. Green Certifications, Standards and Resources · Alternative Fuels & Advanced Vehicles Data Center - US Department of Energy's clearinghouse of data, tools and information related to advanced transportation technologies. · Conservatree - Nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a market for ecologically sound papers. · EcoLogo Program - EcoLogo sets third-party environmental standards and certifications. · Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) - Evaluates and rates PCs, monitors and notebooks based on their environmental impact. · Energy Star - A joint program of the US EPA and US Department of Energy that helps consumers and businesses identify energy efficient products. · Green Seal - Nonprofit organization that provides scientifically-based environmental certification standards. · Pacific NW Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) - Nonprofit organization that promotes environmental protection through pollution prevention. · Puget Sound Clean Air Agency - Regional based organization committed to climate protection through education, incentives and enforcement. · US EPA Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) - EPP program helps the federal government "buy green" and stimulates market demand for green products and services.
