P4 Panel:  Status as of October 22, 2001

Following review of the P4 Final Status Report by the Executive and City Council, the P4 Panel is officially on hiatus. Resolution 30409 thanking the Panelists and formally acknowledging their hiatus was adopted by the City Council on October 8, 2001. The Resolution also notes that when a project appropriate for P4 review is initiated, an ad hoc panel will be convened by the Council or the Executive and asked to review specific public benefit aspects of the partnership.

The City of Seattle faces the constant challenge of how to support worthwhile projects within an ever-tightening budget picture. Resources from the federal government and the State of Washington continue to decline. At the same time, our local communities are looking for innovative ways to get projects done.  Carefully structured public-private partnerships represent one way we can achieve our community objectives.

This site provides background and materials related to the City’s new process for review of public-private partnerships.
