COMMUNITY PARTNERS
The Victim Support Team has fostered successful community collaborations that increase services to victims of domestic violence and preserve partnerships with community businesses and the Seattle Police Department. Some of the existing partnerships include:
JustServe AmeriCorps is a collaborative project between Solid Ground, the Corporation for National and Community Service, Seattle Police Department and frontline anti-violence organizations to address and prevent violence in our community. VST utilizes two full time AmeriCorps positions to provide follow-up advocacy for victims and resource management. Partnership with AmeriCorps is an integral part of sustaining the VST program.
The VST Program has partnered with Verizon Wireless Hopelinesince 2005, providing victims of domestic violence emergency cell phones, with 3000 air minutes.

A representative from the Seattle Fire Department provides our volunteers with the necessary training on biohazard and injury prevention.
New Beginnings
Two representatives from New Beginnings provide domestic violence training to the VST volunteers. The VST program also coordinates services for domestic violence victims with New Beginnings as well several other DV agencies in the area.
The Emergency Feeding Program supplies VST with family-sized food bags and smaller snack packs for families in crisis.
Through the Seattle Police Foundation VST annually receives a $5,000 training grant. This grant makes it possible for VST to deliver a superb 50-hour training academy twice per year, and on going monthly trainings for the volunteers. VST also recently received a Seattle Police Foundation grant for $3,000 to help VST purchase emergency taxi vouchers for victims who need to relocate out of the city limits.
