Giving Back

SPD GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY IN MANY WAYS

The most remarkable feature of the Seattle Police Department is the men and women who make up the organization.  In addition to the work they do everyday, many employees take their commitment to making the community a better place live, work and play to another level.  On their own time and often at their own expense, our employees give back to the community in a variety of ways. 

Sponsoring fundraising activities for the Special Olympics, organizing and delivering a special Holiday gift giving program for foster children, hosting a pet food drive, and sending care packages to our soldiers overseas are just a few of the ways that SPD employees give back everyday.

RECENT PROGRAMS

Most recently the Department has . . .

• Donated $30,000 for Special Olympics .

• Sponsored a pet food drive for the Humane Society.

• Participated in a hockey challenge at Key Area to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

• Sponsored over 300 foster children with holiday gifts.
