Business Security & Crime Prevention

SUPPORTING THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY

The business community is a valued partner in our city's crime prevention efforts. To assist business in combating crime, the Seattle Police Department offers many free services directed toward the reduction of crime in Business and Commercial environments.

KNOWLEDGE and COMMUNICATION IS KEY

KNOWLEDGE - we hope this website will serve as "one-stop-shopping" to all of the programs and many useful tips SPD provides to help you keep your business secure and safe, from the inside and out.

COMMUNICATION - is essential in strengthening the partnership between police and the business community. Your Crime Prevention Coordinator can assist in this vital flow of information to maximize crime prevention efforts.

OTHER SPD PROGRAMS

RETAIL THEFT PROGRAM - A full-time Retail Theft Detective works with stores to provide an alternative reporting technique for shoplifting and trespassing. This saves time for both the stores and police follow-up.

FALSE ALARM PROGRAM - A full-time False Alarm Detective works to cut down on the amount of false alarms reported through community education which frees up officers for other types of responses.
