Job Training and Work Environment The Seattle Police Department offers 9-1-1 dispatchers the most comprehensive training in the state. Upon successful completion on an extensive and intensive training program, employees who are hired as a Dispatcher I may compete for promotional opportunities to Police Communications Dispatcher II, Dispatcher III and then to Chief Dispatcher! The Department appreciates the importance of our 9-1-1 Dispatchers. In addition to providing extensive training and on the job experience, the call center is a state of the art facility designed to provide ideal conditions to make the job more comfortable and to reduce stress.
