The Seattle Police Department encourages citizens to learn about police operations and procedures. This knowledge leads to a better understanding between police officers and citizens alike. THE COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY The Community Police Academy is an eight-week program to educate the public in the operations of the Seattle Police Department. The purpose of the Community Police Academy is to increase understanding between the Seattle Police Department and the community members of Seattle through education and interaction. It includes lessons from police officers from a variety of units, and the opportunity to ride-along with police officers and 9-1-1 plug-ins. Learn more and apply to the Community Police Academy POLICE EXPLORERS PROGRAM This program is for young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 years of age only. For youth interested in law enforcement, the Explorers program is a great opportunity to get involved in police operations, get some law enforcement experience and training while giving back to their community. |
