Athletic Field Scheduling

Field Scheduling for Leagues: John Bates 206-684-4082
Adult Practice Field Scheduling: 206-684-4077
Rainout Hotline: (206) 233-0055

There are 204 Seattle Parks athletic fields that can be scheduled for various sports/activities throughout the year.

Grass fields are converted to soccer/football use from the second week of August through November and are closed December through February. Synthetic and all-weather surfaced fields are scheduled year-round.

Ballfield Surface Temperatures

Ballfield surfaces, especially synthetic turf surfaces, absorb heat and may become hotter than the ambient air temperature. In the event of high summer temperatures, Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel play at specific fields.

Ballfield users should also be aware that adequate fluid intake is important before, during, and after any exercise.

JOINT ATHLETIC FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The purpose of the 2002 JAFDP is to improve Seattle's athletic field system for youth and adults and to decrease the impacts on neighbors living adjacent to fields. Seattle Parks and the School District are partners in this effort jointly providing facilities and programming to meet the growing demand for more field time and more facilities.
