Thank you for choosing a Seattle park for your event. A permit is required
to reserve a playfield, facility, stage or performing arts area,
or to use a park for a gathering. Use permits allow Seattle Parks to
prevent conflicts, make necessary preparations such as heating, lighting,
etc. and to provide personnel and facilities such as garbage cans and
lavatories, and to avoid overuse of facilities.

New booking process for park use permits!
There is a new process for applying for park use permits. This change does not affect bookings for 2015 those applications will still only be accepted on or after the first business day of the year. This change affects 2016 requests and beyond.
We are moving to a yearly rolling calendar which will allow you as event organizers more time to plan for your events. This change will not affect events that receive a special event permit. Those event dates are still guaranteed.
The actual process that will begin on January 2nd 2015 will work as follows:
- Applications will now be accepted on the first business day of the month beginning at 10am on that day. Acceptable dates will be through the end of the month of the following year. Applications received before 10am in any format will not be considered. You will have to resubmit after 10am on the first business day of the year.
- Beginning at 10 am on January 2nd 2015 we will accept applications for events through January 31st 2016.
- Beginning at 10 am on February 2nd 2015 we will accept applications for events through February 28th 2016.
- The first business days for the remainder of the year are as follows: March 2nd, April 1st, May 1st, June 1st, July 1st, Aug 3rd, Sept 1st, Oct 1st, Nov 2nd, Dec 1st.
