There is a wide range of learning opportunities and activities for youth, adults and seniors. We use the tools of computers and multimedia to provide programs which help develop skills, train tomorrow’s leaders, encourage recreation and health, build community and connect residents to vital services. Basic Computer Programming IEver wanted to learn how to write computer programs? In this class, we will learn basic concepts of computer programming and create simple programs. Language used will be Python, in a Windows environment. Topics include: data types, operators, variables, conditionals, iteration. For students with little or no experience with computer programming.
Basic Computer Programming IIA continuation of Basic Computer Programming I. Language used will be Python, in a Windows environment. Topics include: control flow, functions, data structures, basic input/output. For students with some computer programming experience.
Classes for Adults
Basic Microsoft Word ILearn how to create attractive letters and resumés using Microsoft Word! In this class, we will learn how to use Microsoft Word to create basic documents. Topics covered: getting familiar with Word, working with text, copy/paste, formatting, indenting, and tab stops. For adults that have some computer and Windows experience but little experience with Microsoft Word.
Basic Microsoft Word IILearn how to create attractive letters and resumés using Microsoft Word! In this class, we will learn more about creating documents. Topics covered: bulleted lists, spell check, thesaurus, find/replace and printing. For adults that have some computer and Windows experience but little experience with Microsoft Word. Basic Microsoft Excel IBoost your resumé with Microsoft Excel skills! In this class, we will learn how to use Microsoft Excel to create tables, lists and perform basic calculations. Topics covered: cells, working with data, basic formulas, copying/pasting. For adults that have some computer and Windows experience but little experience with Microsoft Excel.

Classes for Seniors
Basic Computer IIn this class, we will learn what a computer is, how to use a keyboard and mouse, and basic typing skills. We will also learn a little bit of Microsoft Windows, as time allows. This class is ideal for seniors that have little or no experience with computers.
Basic Computer IIIn this class, we will learn how to use Microsoft Windows: starting programs, managing windows, and managing files and folders. Recommended: completion of Basic Computer for Seniors I or very basic computer knowledge.
Basic Internet and Email IIn this class, we will learn what the Internet is and how to use it to browse different websites, search for specific information and download files. We will also learn some basic Web email skills. This class is intended for seniors with some computer experience, but little experience with the Internet.
Basic Internet and Email IIIn this class, we will learn more about how to use Web email--reading, sending, forwarding and printing email. We will also learn how to send and open attachments, if time permits. Recommended: completion of Basic Internet and Email for Seniors I class or basic Internet navigation skills.
Useful Internet ToolsIn this class, we will learn how to use some helpful tools on the Internet. Some examples are Craigslist, Google Maps, and SPL. Recommended: completion of Basic Internet and Email for Seniors I class or basic Internet navigation skills.
