RecTech Programs
Seattle City Councilmember Bruce Harrell with RecTech Youth

Mission

To provide programs that effectively use technology for education, recreation and community services for children, youth, adults, and neighborhoods.

Our centers provide a wide range of learning opportunities and activities for computer users of every age and skill level. We use the tools of computers and multimedia to provide programs that help develop skills, train tomorrow’s leaders, encourage recreation and health, build community, and connect residents to vital services.

We are guided by an alliance of staff, managers and community advisory council members. The non-profit Associated Recreation CouncilAssociated Recreation Council administers our program in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation and the City of Seattle Department of Information Technology (DoIT). RecTech is committed to closing the digital divide and ensuring opportunity for all.

Our Goals

  • Provide and promote continued learning and growth in a dynamic environment
  • Share technology resources and experience
  • Help and support each other in a non-threatening partnership
  • Leverage our strength and resources for quality and sustainability
