Ranger Response Line: (206) 615-0387
To enhance the safety and quality of life in Seattle's downtown parks through a uniformed presence, respectful, professional assistance, and quality customer service to all park users and visitors.
The Park Rangers actively support the Center City Parks Concierges and Seattle Parks activation programs in Seattle's downtown core. The primary function of park rangers is to support positive use of our parks, to educate and assist park users and to seek voluntary compliance with laws and Park Code SMC 18.12. They can issue warnings, citations and parks trespass warnings. They can be called on to address repeated Park Code violations or minor infractions, and will respond when available.
The Park Rangers are a valuable resource for our parks. They provide a strong, positive but authoritative presence in our parks. They have limited authority, are not sworn law enforcement officers, and are not armed. Call 9-1-1 for Police or Fire response when there is a public safety emergency.
