Seattle Parks and Recreation purchased this surplused City Light substation on August 29, 2003.
PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThe Pro Parks Levy included the purchase of this property as a Neighborhood Parks Acquisition project. The surplused City Light substation is at 3650 Renton Ave S, just southeast of the stoplight on Martin Luther King Jr Way S, and Della St/S. Walden St. |
The Levy also included funding for development of the site as community open space. New park and young plants!

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

In 2001, the community held an ice cream social at the site to celebrate its inclusion in the Pro Parks Levy.
Parks conducted a public process regarding the park development of the site. Park construction was completed in 2005. (
