This project was constructed by the Seattle School District in conjunction
with the new high school under construction on the northeast corner
of the site.
Tom Rengstorf of Thomas V. Rengstorf Associates was the landscape
architect in charge of designing the plaza. As suggested by the
community, a large permanent labyrinth was created there.
The labyrinth is viewed as a metaphor for life's journey. It
offers lessons as one walks the labryinth path. Walking the path
can assist a person in addressing life's challenges by achieving
a meditative state and finding peace and serenity.
