PROJECT STATUS

August 2008

A contract has been awarded to PJM Construction for the sidewalk improvements for the project. The contract includes the following work: sidewalk replacement on the west sides of the 1100 and 1500 blocks of Bigelow Ave. N; installation of a new sidewalk on the east side of W. McGraw PL between Smith St and 2nd Ave W; sidewalk replacement on the west end of the south side of the 500 block of W Raye Street; and sidewalk replacement on the west side of 8th Ave W between W Armour Street and W Newell Street. The work will begin on the 1500 block of Bigelow Ave N. on August 11 and will be complete by the end of year.

Additional work is being completed by Parks crews. To date they have installed two blocks of new crushed rock path on Bigelow Ave N. Additional work includes: renovating the crushed rock path on the south side of Smith Street between 1st Ave N and Warren Ave N; removal of fences and installation of a new crushed rock path on the west side of W McGraw Place between W Smith Street/1st Ave W and W McGraw Place/2nd Ave W; removal of impediments along both sides of McGraw Place between Warren Ave N and the McGraw Street bridge. Work will be complete by the end of the year.

Parks has held three meetings to collect comments on the improvements to Queen Anne Boulevard. The agendas and notes from those meetings are linked on the bottom of this web page.

The first two public meetings solicited community input on their priorities for improvements. At the third meeting Parks presented a final design develpment plan to the community for their review.

BUDGET
The Pro Parks Levy provides $500,000 project costs of planning, design and construction.

Design:Fall 2006 - Summer 2007
Construction:Fall - Winter 2007
Completion:Winter 2007/2008

Upgrade the historic Queen Anne Boulevard including pedestrian amenities, lighting, landscaping, etc.
