PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Scope of Work
The following list constitutes the majority of improvements and/or renovations being implemented with Pro Parks Levy dollars for ballfields #2 and #3:
  • demolition of current systems,
  • grading of field surfaces and installation of new soil,
  • installation of new drainage and irrigation systems,
  • replacement of fencing fabric and installation of safety fencing along Play Area interface,
  • replace infield surfacing,
  • recommendations for turf analysis,
  • utility connection for Ballfield #1

Next Steps
Pro Parks funds were insufficient for proper renovation of all three ballfields at Meadowbrook. Parks Steering Committee directed the Project team to focus on completing the improvements for Ballfields #2 & #3. We have applied, unsuccessfully for an IAC Grant in 2003 to provide funds for the renovation of ballfield #1. Parks will continue to pursue additional funding for the full renovation of field #1.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
Public Involvement
Three public meetings were held for the Meadowbrook Playfield Project starting in September 2002 and extending into December 2002. The main objective of the public process was to work with the community on prioritizing design elements and to work towards collaborative funding approaches for various aspects of the Meadowbrook Playfield Projects.
