Thank you Seattle this park is complete!
Georgetown celebrated the opening of this new turf field on Friday,
June 13, 2008 with a community kickball game - Hats vs. Boots. Mayor
Greg Nickels participated by throwing in the first pitch and playing
the first inning. At the opening event the Seattle Sounders conducted
a soccer clinic and the community enjoyed music by Los Flacos.
Parks modified the original plans for the improvement project to
include accommodation of high school baseball practice. This change
includes barrier fence netting around portions of the field to protect
cars and spectators from errant foul balls.
In response to a request from the community and with the support
of the Superintendent, this project also completed the safety
fencing at the north end of the site.
