PROJECT STATUSDecember 2008 Thank you Seattle this project is complete! The project to restore the Peace Park and make a connection to the Cheshiahud Loop is complete. As construction fences came down on the afternoon of Nov 21, 2009 joggers and sight seers moved through the site. Fences to protect the newly seeded grass will remain in place until the lawn is well established. The renovation work included ADA accessibility, safety modifications,
new sidewalk and paths, new stairway, and parking for ADA, bus
and maintenance use. Landscaping and planting renovation are also
planned.
PROJECT DESCRIPTIONUpgrade the area around the Burke-Gilman Trail near the University Bridge, I-5 bridge, and Peace Park. Improve the landscaping and paths. Peace Park is in the public Right of Way owned by SDOT and is at a junction of several transportion modes including motor vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. (
