Project Status

On February 1, 2011 , Parks Acting Superintendent Christopher Williams made the decision to not move forward with the West Seattle Golf Driving range.

Seattle Parks and Recreation and the design team have hosted three meetings.

At the first meeting in August 2010, the team reviewed the master plan concept and took questions from the community.

At the second meeting in September 2010 the design team presented an alternate concept that addressed concerns raised at meeting #1 and took questions.

A the third public meeting in October 2010 Parks presented revisions to the alternate concept that added additional improvements to the course.

Seattle Parks hired R.W. Thorpe & Associates, Inc as the lead consultant for the project team with OB Sports , GBD Architects, ICon Golf Studio , DOWL and Pan Geo as key subconsultants.

This project is the first element to be constructed as directed by the Golf Master Plan. The Golf Master Plan was developed in 2009 with community input.

Project Description

This project will integrate a new two story golf driving
range with a capacity of approximately 50 stalls into
the West Seattle Golf Course. This project is consistent
with Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Golf Master
Plan, dated May 2009.
