Project Status

Thank you Seattle. This acquisition is complete.
South Park community pursued this acquisition through the Parks and Green Spaces Opportunity Fund. The purchase of this future park space closed December 2014.

The Opportunity Fund allocates $669,000 for purchase of three parcels.

Project Description

This project was selected for the second round of Parks and Green Spaces Levy Opportunity Funding. The application receivedYou will need adobe acrobat reader to view this document. in this community-initiated process is a preliminary concept and the final design may be constrained by the project budget. All projects will go through Park’s public involvement procedure which includes public meetings and community input. They will also go through an internal Parks process to ensure the most effective implementation.

The acquisition presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the South Park community to secure land for future public use that will be; a gateway to the business district, community gathering space, park amenity and connection to the Duwamish River.
