Rainier Beach Playfield Improvements
8802 Rainier Ave S, Seattle WA 98118
The Parks and Green Spaces Levy Maintenance Adjustment fund allocates:
Play Area Renovation: $300,000
Tennis Courts & Lighting Replacement: $1,300,000
Planning: April - June 2012
Design: July 2012 - May 2013
Construction: January 2014 - June 2014
Completion: June 2014
The play area renovation includes new play equipment for children ages 2-12, improved safety surfacing, better accessibility and site amenities that may include picnic tables and seating area.
The tennis court renovation constructs new courts, adds new energy efficient lighting, and improves access. Seattle Parks regularly evaluates tennis courts using a number of factors such as condition, number of courts, location, budget and more to determine what courts should have priority. Rainier Beach was selected based on these factors for a full reconstruction.
