The renovation work in the interior of the Shelter House is complete. Finishes are being put on the Shelterhouse and will soon be available for rent.
The Opening of the Shelterhouse to showcase the renovations was July 16th at the annual Pinehurstfest. Parks, the Department of Neighborhoods and the Friends of the Pinehurst Shelterhouse spoke at the Opening. Support to complete this project was made by the Department of Neighborhood’s Matching Fund, Meadowbrook Community Center, Pinehurst Community Council, King County, Norcliffe Foundation, Seattle Foundation and private donations.
The Shelterhouse will be used for Pinehurst Community Council meetings, for Meadowbrook Community Center youth programs and will be available for rent.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Friends of Pinehurst Shelter House group applied for and
was awarded a Large Project Matching fund from the Department
of Neighborhoods in 2007. The community is working with the Parks
Department and an Architect to provide physical improvements to
the interior and exterior of the shelter house on Pinehurst Playfield.
