Project Status

Spring/Summer 2015
The play area has been open over the past year and is receiving rave reviews from kids and adults alike. Thank you, Seattle!

In addition to the Play Area Renovation Project, efforts by the community group Montlake Family Fitness for grants to fund adult exercise equipment and construction of a sports court have been successful. The project was approved for a Neighborhood Matching Fund award and a King County Sports Facility Grant. The sport court is under construction and will be completed in early summer.

The Parks and Green Spaces Levy allocates $550,000 for the planning, design and construction for this project.
Planning: Spring/Summer 2012
Design: Fall 2012 - Spring 2013
Construction: Fall 2013
Completion: Winter 2013

Project Description

This project will provide for replacement of play equipment, access improvements and other work at this existing play area.

The scope of this project brings the play area into compliance with current play area safety standards and guideline efforts of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as well as meets the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Community Participation

The preferred schematic design was presented on Wednesday, December 5 at the third meeting.
