Project Status

Thank you Seattle!
On August 14, 2009 Parks purchased a .66-acre parcel to consolidate holdings in the Me Kwa Mooks Natural Area.

The site was originally purchased by Cascade Land Conservancy several years ago and sold to a conservation buyer with conservation easements in place, however it subsequently went into foreclosure two times. It became evident that permanent protection through fee ownership would better preserve the natural qualities of the site and ensure the terms of the conservation easement, still held by Cascade Land Conservancy, would be met. A structure on the site will be removed soon.
