Thank you Seattle! This project is complete.

A celebration for the completion of the Phase I of this Parks and Green Spaces Levy project was held on September 26, 2009.

This is the first Parks and Green Spaces levy projected completed.

Project Description

This project designs and constructs a multi-use trail along NE 65th Street to the Lake Shore Promenade. The tree lined path provides a connective trail that eases congestion and provides a safe and scenic route to Lake Washington waterfront.

Included in this project is partial removal of an old military boundary fence. When Naval Air Station Seattle was still operational it had a boundary fence which stretched more than two miles. In July and August 2009 almost 1700 feet of this former boundary fence was removed along the south side of NE 65th St.

Seattle Parks and Recreation held a public meeting on February 24, 2009 and provided the community information on this new trail project.
