Project Status

Thank you Seattle! Phase two renovation is complete.
This project renovated the tennis court, increased ADA accessibility, restored the hillside main trail , added picnic tables and benches, and improved forest vegetation. An opening celebration was held Saturday, April 26, 2014 (see photos at right).

Winter 2014 Update
Construction of phase two which includes renovation of the tennis court, ADA access, hillside and main trail restoration and plantings is underway and will be complete in early 2014.

Winter 2012/Spring 2013
The project is one of 15 to receive funding from the Opportunity Fund. It is a continuation of a community-initiated Neighborhood Matching Fund (NMF) project. The community is working with Seattle Parks and HBB Landscape Architects to develop the design development plan including stronger trail connections, a sustained natural setting and increased usage of the park.

The design team has narrowed the scope of the work into phases. A portion of the work will be completed through Conservation Corps in 2012 and the remainder of the work will continue in 2013. The dog off leash area will be part of the park development to occur in fall 2012.

See below for an archive of meetings and documents from the NMF phase of this project.

Wed like to thank the community and FOLKpark for being great supporters of this park and for devoting so much of their time and energy to the improvement of it. The formal public input process is complete.
