Seattle Ordinance 123391 relating to the purchase of the property at 12510 33rd Ave NE was signed by Mayor Mike McGinn on September 23, 2010.

Seattle Parks hosted a meeting in February 2010 to discuss the proposed new park in the Lake City Urban Village. See meeting notes below:

The property currently has an office building on it, which will be managed by Parks until development funding is procured for the new park.

This acquisition will help fill a need for open space in the Lake City Urban Village.

Project Description

The Parks and Green Spaces Levy provides $24 million for the acquisition of neighborhood parks in up to 20 identified areas throughout the City. The Lake City Residential Urban Village was included in that list.
