Project Status

The new beach adventure play area opened on August 5, 2011 and the community participated in an opening celebration on August 29, 2011. It was an evening full of maritime music and family fun.

The new playground provides improved access, new play equipment that includes a large pirate ship climbing structure and dome with climbing nets.

The new play area is located on the lawn between the bathhouse and the parking lot.

Project Description

Golden Gardens Play Area Renovation, identified in the Parks & Green Spaces Levy, provides for the replacement of play equipment, improvement to site circulation and access, and upgrades to meet current safety and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

The play area will be relocated to reduce conflict with traffic and to allow for more play equipment. The new location will be determined as part of schematic design. The project provides a desirable place to gather and play for ages 2 - 12.
