Project Status

Summer 2015
Seattle Parks ordered the play equipment for this project and anticipate installation soon after school starts. This work follows the School District improvements and the play equipment meets the School District requirements.

Thank you all for attending the third and final public meeting on January 6, 2015. The community expressed its desire to continue forward with renovations to the park. The final playground plan will be displayed on the project sign board at Cedar Park.

The park plans will be coordinated with Seattle Public School's redevelopment plan to include a joint-use playground/park feature with Cedar Park Elementary.

The Parks and Green Spaces Levy provides $500,000 for planning, design and construction.

Planning: Winter 2014 - Winter 2015
Design: Spring 2015
Construction: Summer 2015
Completion: Fall 2015

Project Description

Cedar Park Renovation project provides for the retrofit of the existing play features, improvement to site circulation and access, and upgrades to meet current safety and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The renovation project occurs in the existing play area only. Existing play equipment including swing set and sand area will be removed. New play equipment and ADA access will be installed.

The park will function as a playground for Cedar Park Elementary school and will be a desirable space for the neighborhood youth and families to recreate year-round.
