2007 Photography Contest

We are pleased to announce the winners for the 2007 Discovery Park Photo Contest. Over 55 photographers entered the Discovery Park 2007 Photography Contest. Judges Natalie Fobes, Thomas Hefferan, and Kathi Goertzen had a difficult time selecting 17 photos for the calendar from 163 photographs. Selections were made on the basis of artistic merit, photo subject matter, and representation of the park.

Rules

  • All photographs must be taken in Discovery Park or Kiwanis Ravine.
  • A $15 non-refundable fee must accompany each entry form. Please make checks out to the City of Seattle. Each entry can consist of up to three images.
  • All pictures must be received by May 27th. We will notify contestants of the winners in July.
  • We can accept only digital or 35 mm slide images.
  • Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like us to return your images.
  • When submitting, photographers should try to send in copies or duplicates of images.
  • Please mail or drop off entries at the Discovery Park Visitor Center, 3801 W. Government Way, Seattle, WA 98199.
  • Each contestant can submit a maximum of three photos. Please submit horizontal images ONLY, indicate the top of image, and label all slides at the top.
  • We are looking for a wide array of photos that represent a variety of seasons and habitats.

Digital Images

Please save digital images on PC-compatible-CDs and clearly label them TIF or JPG files. Please include the attached entry form with all applications. We regret that we cannot accept applications by e-mail. Please include your name both on the CD and on the case.

Image dimensions should be 8.5 x 11 at 300 dpi in TIF or JPG format. Name your files in the following manner: first name initial, underscore, last name , underscore, image title. If there is not a title for an image designate the image as Untitled_1, Untitled_2, Untitled_3.
