Special Announcements

The Board of Park Commissioners May 9, 2013 meeting has been canceled. Next meeting is June 13, 2013.

Recently, the Board of Park Commissioners sent a letter to the Gateway Pacific Terminal to be included as part of the official comments in the Environmental Impact Statement for increased coal trains through Seattle.

The Board of Park Commissioners is working with Parks and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in an effort to open access to Magnuson Park via a NOAA access road.

ABOUT THE BOARD

The Seattle Board of Park Commissioners is a volunteer advisory board established by ordinance. The Board consults with and makes recommendations to City Council, the Mayor, and the Superintendent regarding the Parks and Recreation Department's policies for the planning, development and use of the City's park and recreation facilities.

PUBLIC MEETINGS

The Board of Park Commissioners meet monthly on the second Thursday of each month. The next regular Park Board meeting will be Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting is held in the Ken Bounds Board Room in the Seattle Parks and Recreation administration building in Denny Park at 100 Dexter Ave N. (Map It)
