ABOUT THE PARK

Madrona Park and Beach is located on the waterfront on Lake Washington. The park include a wooded hillside that slopes down to a grassy beach and swimming area, where lifeguards are on duty in the summer. It also features a jogging path along Lake Washington and picnic areas. Madrona Dance Studio is in the south part of the park.

HISTORY

The park is named for the madrona trees at the lakeside. The Seattle Electric Company once operated a private trolley to the beach. The city acquired the property in 1908, and converted the bathhouse to a dance studio in 1971.

Access Lake Washington Blvd. from E. Madison St. or Madrona Dr.

Park is between Madrona Dr. to the north and E. Alder St. to the south, north of I-90.

Parking:

Loading/Unloading zone by shelter. Parking lot located south of the shelter area.
