HISTORY

The Gilman Park Community Club initiated a local improvement district to acquire a playground in 1928. It was referred to as West Woodland Playground until the club petitioned in 1932 for the name Gilman Playground. (Edited from the files of Don Sherwood, 1916-1981, Park Historian.)
