HOURS4 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. ABOUT THE PARKLocated south-west of the Ship Canale, on Union Bay, McCurdy Park is home to the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). By agreement, the City owns and maintains the building, and the Historical Society owns and supervises the museum exhibits. Acreage: 1.5HISTORYIn the 1850's, the land which is now McCurdy Park was the "Canal Reserve" route planned for the Ship Canal and donated by King County for the purpose. In 1917, another route was chosed for the canal and between 1925 and 1946 the federal government gave "Old Canal Right of Way" to the city. The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) opened in 1952.
