HOURS4 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. ABOUT THE PARKThis beautiful park, built on a steeply sculptured hillside, is in the upper portion of 1st Avenue W. Here you will find a play area, fire slabs, three tennis courts and public restrooms. Follow the paths that wind down grass-covered knobs and knolls to the Queen Anne Bowl and North Queen Anne Elementary School. HISTORYThe north slope of Queen Anne hill containing Queen Anne Bowl and David Rodgers Park was homesteaded by Nils Peterson. Peterson made his living excavating gravel from the glacial remains there. Realtor B. F. Day bought the Rodgers Park section and deeded it to the City in 1883.
